You can download a really good brewing program that takes the guesswork out of formulating. It predicts ABV, IBU's color, can be customized based on brewhouse efficiency, heat losses based on your system, etc.

Breweries/Brewpubs in the Hudson Valley and Tri-State Area

My Local Brew Pub. They do such good beer and business that they have outgrown their brewery! They outsource their mainstays and work on seasonals and new stuff in-house. Good food, and a good selection of other local beers. A lot of fun!

Brew pub in the Poconos. They have good food and the do an AWESOME Black Lager, which is also served at the Great Wolf Lodge nearby. We take the kids there every year.
